Massage Therapist
I have been practising as a registered therapist since 2001, initially training in London in sports massage, reflexology and lymphatic drainage before completing further training overseas in remedial massage, nutrition, homeopathy and herbal medicine. I am a registered member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists, fully insured and up-to-date with my qualifications.
Originally from Kent, I moved to Australia in 2004 where I furthered my education, worked as a therapist and taught massage at a well-renowned school in Sydney from 2009-17 before returning to the UK in 2017.
In my leisure time, I love to explore the Peak District and beyond, do Zumba fitness, yoga and meditation, hiking cooking, and gardening as well as continuing my professional development with new courses, seminars and webinars.
Special Interests
I am passionate about the benefits of complementary medicine and assisting patients to achieve the best possible outcomes for their health, whether it be pain-relief or stress-reduction.
I offer a suite of treatments that aim to relieve pain, unwanted symptoms and stress: relaxation, remedial, deep tissue and sports massage, Indian head massage, pre- and post-natal massage, reflexology and lymphatic drainage. (Please note that essential oil blends may be used to enhance the effectiveness of treatment, although this is entirely optional). Advice on stretching and strengthening is usually provided to enhance the effects of hands-on therapy.
Lymphatic drainage is performed without oil. It is a specialised type of ‘massage’ used primarily for oedema and lymphoedema, especially post-breast cancer surgery but it has a variety of other applications too.
I do treat patients with active cancer (although not with lymphatic drainage) provided there are no contraindications to treatment. Please enquire if you would like more information.
