Tammy Fleming

Physiotherapist & Massage Therapist

I trained as a physiotherapist at The Queens College, Glasgow and qualified with a BSc in 1990. I worked for 13 years in both the NHS and private practice before taking a career break. However, having completed a comprehensive period of updating over the last 2 years with the wonderful support and guidance of Ashbourne and Hilton physiotherapy staff, I have now returned to practice as a fully qualified and registered physiotherapist.

In addition to being a qualified physiotherapist, I have a Level 4 Diploma in Sports Massage having qualified in 2016. I have a professional but friendly approach to treatment and enjoy getting to know my patients, many of whom return on a regular basis for maintenance purposes. I am hardworking and committed to doing my best with professional development being a priority.

My dual qualifications are mutually beneficial, and I have a wealth of experience in both areas.  Please check if you need clarity on whether you are booking a physio or massage appointment.

Outside of work, Tamara is a social member of Checkley Cricket Club. She enjoys Latin American and Ballroom dancing and in order to keep fit regularly attends the gym, home work- outs and long walks in the countryside.

Special Interests

I am a general musculoskeletal physiotherapist and consider myself to be very much ‘hands-on’ with my approach to treatment. I enjoy treating patients with a diverse range of conditions but have a special interest in sports injuries and spinal conditions. In the past I worked at the previous National Sports Centre at Bisham Abbey and with Headingly and Yorkshire County Rugby Union.

As I have the advantage of being a physiotherapist, I can utilise my expertise in my role as a massage therapist by applying my consultation and assessment skills along with my in-depth knowledge of Anatomy.

Qualifications

BSc, MCSP, Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council

Level 4 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy
