Children’s Physiotherapy
We recognise that assessment and treatment of young people needs to take into account the stages they are at of skeletal maturity. This doesn’t always fully correlate with their calendar age. Safe and effective practice means recognising that, as far as their skeleton goes, children are not just small adults – their bodies are dealing with the complexities of growing and maturing alongside any damage from sprains, strains or underlying pathologies.
It is also vital to consider lifestyle, nutrition and the amount and type of sport/exercise that is appropriate for their stage of skeletal maturity. If a young person under your care is struggling with an ongoing pain or restriction or has had a recent injury and you are struggling to find answers and the specialist treatment they need, give us a call and let’s see if we can help. We provide physiotherapy for children of school age that are able to follow instruction and cover injuries like sprains and strains and post-operative recovery where these problems are MSK related (to do with muscles and bones). We do not treat neurological or developmental conditions in children.
