Tammy has a Level 4 Diploma in in Sorts Massage Therapy having qualified as a therapist in 2016. She has a professional approach to treatment and adheres to the rules set by The Federation of Holistic Therapists. She is hardworking and committed to doing her best with professional development being a priority.

Outside of work, Tamara is a social member of Checkley Cricket Club. She enjoys Latin American and Ballroom dancing and in order to keep fit regularly attends the gym, home work- outs and long walks in the countryside.

Special Interests

As a Sports Massage Therapist, Tammy has treated a wide range of clients from the non-sporty to the elite athlete. She has experienced event work providing massage at Marathons, Action Challenge events and at the European Mixed Martial Arts Championships in 2015.

In the clinic, Tammy provides massage in order to relieve muscular tension, pain and stiffness often caused by work related postures and the stresses and strains resulting from activities of daily living. All treatments are tailored to meet the needs of the individual using a variety of soft tissue techniques and in order to enhance the effects of massage, Tammy will give advice on posture, stretching and strengthening exercises.

Tammy previously trained as a Physiotherapist at The Queens College, Glasgow and qualified with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 1990. She worked for 13 years in both the NHS and private practice including working at the previous National Sports Centre at Bisham Abbey. She specialised in Musculoskeletal physiotherapy with a particular interest in sports injuries. Furthermore, during the 1990’s Tammy was the team Physiotherapist with Yorkshire County U15’s Rugby Union squad and was also involved with Headingly Rugby Union.

Although no longer working as a Physiotherapist, Tammy can utilise her experience of hands-on therapy in her role as Sports Massage Therapist and apply her consultation and assessment skills along with her in-depth knowledge of anatomy.
